The essential qualities of a good sock are
comfortable, tough and should keep moisture away from the skin.
Choose socks that complement your foot conditions and activities
that you are planning, and make sure that your socks fit comfortably
within the interior space of your new or existing footwear,
providing enough room for all of the toes to be in their natural
positions hence allowing toe motion.

Diabetic Sock:

Sock are specially designed to reduce pressure on
swollen feet, ankles, and sensitive legs by minimizing constriction.

Fiber or material which inhibits growth of fungus
and bacteria in the sock.

terry soles.

yet does not fall down.
-

-

environment that mean no rubs, no irritation.
Avoid The Sock:
-
Bulky "tube" socks and socks with large seams can
create painful pressure points, which often lead to blisters and
foot ulcers.
-
Traditional cotton socks are also not recommended
for diabetics because they absorb moisture, but do not wick it away
from the feet. Basically that means cotton does work to absorb the
moisture caused by sweating, but does nothing to help get the
moisture away from the foot. That means the socks stays moist most
of the day, which doesn't help keep feet hygiene.
-
Socks with elastic bands at the top help to keep
the sock up, however many diabetic foot care professionals actually
cut off the elastic tops off the socks. Anytime an elastic band
binds the leg, the force are great enough to create an indention
mark, it is not good for our leg.
